• I agree to only use chalk on the sidewalk with NO fixatives (including hairspray), NO oil pastels, spray paint or tempera. No glitter or metal foils. Please note: Chalk Paint or Spray Chalk are also not permitted.
• We highly discourage using large areas of black chalk in your art. (Black is very difficult to remove from the sidewalk, especially if it is rubbed in.)
• I will only compose my art on the concrete area provided for me through my registration and will report to the event staff immediatly if unregistered individuals are drawing in unopproved areas.
• I agree to keep my art family-friendly, not-political, non-violent and advertisement-free. I will not use any company logos in my artwork.
• I understand that Joy Foundation and event staff have the right to remove any art that does not comply with these guidelines – as determined by Joy Foundation.
• I have no ownership to the photos or reproductions made by Joy Foundation of my artwork. Joy Foundation can use and reproduce the artwork I create for its purposes, promotional or otherwise.
• I understand that artwork must be started no later than Thursday, June 5th at 6:00 p.m. If my square is empty at that time, or I have not arranged a later start time with event officials, my square may be given to another participant.
• I understand that if I cannot attend I may not give my square to a person of my choosing. Un-used spots will go to the first individuals on a waiting list. If you have registered for a spot and find that you cannot attend please let us know as early as possible, if given enough time prior to the event Joy Foundation may issue a refund.
• I understand that my art must be completed by Friday, June 6th at 6:00 p.m. to be included in the awards and judging, however I may continue working on my art through Saturday.
